Bounce Children’s Foundation Achieves Candid Platinum for 5th Consecutive Year – Providing Donors with Insight into Progress and Results
Deerfield, IL (Oct. 17, 2022)– Bounce Children’s Foundation®, a not-for-profit organization that transforms the lives of chronically ill children, and their families, shifting all from surviving to thriving, is pleased to announce that it has maintained its Candid (Formerly GuideStar) Platinum Nonprofit Seal of Transparency for the fifth year in a row. This is the highest level of recognition offered by Candid, the world’s largest source of nonprofit information.
“Transparency is an important part of how Bounce continues to demonstrate its commitment to giving donors and funders meaningful data to evaluate the progress of the organization,” said Joan Steltmann, chief executive officer, Bounce Children’s Foundation. “Our Candid profile and Platinum status have helped us grow at double-digit rates, even during the pandemic. We now serve more than 400 families across the Chicagoland area, and continue to welcome more.”
To reach the Platinum level, Bounce Children’s Foundation maintains a rich data set in its Nonprofit Profile on Candid: basic contact and organizational information; in-depth financial information; qualitative information about goals, strategies, and capabilities; and quantitative information about results and progress toward its mission.
“We are very proud and honored to have earned Platinum status for five years in a row,” said Bobby Lucas, office managing partner, Dinsmore & Shohl, LLC and Bounce Board Chair. “The visibility and credibility that result from inclusion in Candid’s database are instrumental to Bounce in achieving our commitment to children with chronic illness and their families.”

About Bounce Children’s Foundation
Bounce Children’s Foundation® (Bounce), a Chicagoland not-for-profit organization, transforms the lives of chronically ill children, and their families, shifting all from surviving to thriving. Offering a variety of ongoing home and community-based programs, Bounce is unique in filling a vital gap in the network of care for the nearly 1 in 5 U.S. children who battle chronic illness. Combatting a deep sense of invisibility and extreme isolation, Bounce provides community and connection, fun and friendship, education and resources, hope and encouragement, and a place to belong – until cures are found. Currently, Bounce helps 2,000 members and has grown at double-digit rates every year of its existence. Bounce empowers its members to build the resilience they need to live happier, healthier lives. As one Bounce Dad put it, “Bounce helps families heal!” One hundred percent privately funded, Bounce is offered free of charge. And, while there is no income requirement, many members are low income and all face extraordinary out-of-pocket medical costs.
