Deerfield, IL – Bounce Children’s Foundation® (Bounce), a nonprofit organization supporting chronically ill children and their families, is pleased to announce that it has once again earned a two-year Seal of Approval from the Chicago Better Business Bureau (BBB Chicago).
To be eligible for Charity Accreditation and obtain a Seal of Approval, nonprofits must satisfactorily complete the BBB Chicago’s comprehensive disclosure process indicating compliance with all 20 BBB Standards for Charity Accountability. This process is part of BBB Chicago’s work to recognize ethical nonprofits like Bounce and aligns with its mission to promote and build awareness of ethical business practices and marketplace trust.
“Bounce is committed to accountability and proud to be recognized by BBB Chicago,” said Joan Steltmann, chief executive officer, Bounce Children’s Foundation. “We seek to always ensure that donors, volunteers, those we serve, and the public, know we are true to our mission.” Echoing this commitment, Bobby Lucas, office managing partner, Dinsmore & Shohl, LLC and Bounce Board Chair, added, “I am proud of Bounce’s continued growth and accountability – and I encourage all to review our reports on the BBB Chicago website.” Earning the Chicago BBB Seal of Approval supports Bounce’s continued growth – vital to the nearly 1 in 5 U.S. children battling a disease for which there is no cure.
About Bounce Children’s Foundation
Bounce Children’s Foundation® (Bounce), a Chicagoland nonprofit organization, transforms the lives of chronically ill children, and their families, shifting all from surviving to thriving. Offering a variety of ongoing home and community-based programs, Bounce is unique in filling a vital gap in the overall network of care for the 15-18 percent of children who battle chronic illness. Combatting a deep sense of invisibility and extreme isolation, the Bounce community provides fun and friendship, education and resources, hope and encouragement, and a place to belong – until cures are found. Currently, Bounce helps over 1800 members, including chronically ill children, their healthy siblings, and their parents, build the resilience needed to live happier, healthier lives. One hundred percent privately-funded, Bounce is offered free of charge. And, while there is no income requirement, many members are low income and all face extraordinary out-of-pocket medical expenses.
