Corey Martens elected as chair of Bounce Board of Directors

(July 28, 2016) — Bounce Children’s Foundation is pleased to announce the election of Corey Martens, partner, KPMG Forensic, Chicago, to the Chair role for its Board of Directors. The Board of Directors holds governance and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization.

Martens’ strategic focus, business leadership skills, and extensive volunteer experience are true assets in his role with Bounce. Knowledge gained from other organizations advocating for the disabled, such as Equip for Equality, and his experience with medical institutions, such as Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago Foundation, suits Bounce perfectly. “Corey’s giving spirit, tireless work ethic, and speed of execution, along with his knowledge of, and experience with, the not-for-profit sector is a solid basis to his ability to help Bounce grow and succeed,” noted Joan Steltmann, Founder & CEO, Bounce Children’s Foundation. “He represents all that Bounce stands for and will be a phenomenal asset to our team.”

As a partner at KPMG Forensic, Chicago, Martens specializes in securities litigation related to allegations of accounting and financial improprieties, regulatory inquiries and investigations, forensic investigations, accountant’s liability litigation, anti-corruption and U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practice Act compliance consulting services, the provision of consulting services in the areas of forensic accounting, and fraud risk management for public and private companies, both domestically and internationally.

Martens has been an Audit Committee Member of the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) since 2007, a board member of the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago Foundation since 2013, and a board member for Equip for Equality since 2012. Martens received his BBA from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
