SHERRI HLAVACEK ELECTED TO BOUNCE CHILDREN’S FOUNDATION® BOARD OF DIRECTORS
DEERFIELD, Ill. (June 19, 2015)- Bounce Children’s Foundation ® (Bounce), a not-for-profit organization supporting children battling chronic illness, and their loved ones, is proud to announce the election of Sherri Hlavacek to the Board of Directors. Ms. Hlavacek is the Executive Vice President, Head of Finance at Nuveen Fund Advisors, Inc., Nuveen Investments, Inc. and other Nuveen Investments advisory affiliates.
Ms. Hlavacek joined Nuveen Investments’ Finance Department in 1998 as Vice President & Assistant Controller and was subsequently appointed Controller in 2001 and Principal Accounting Officer in 2006. Prior to joining Nuveen, she held the roles of Controller at Sara Lee Bakery, Senior Manager at Kraft Foods and Supervising Senior Manager at KPMG.
“Sherri is an experienced executive with a strong financial, planning, and analytical skill set,” said Corey Martens, board chair, Bounce Children’s Foundation, and partner, Grant Thorton LLP’s U.S. Forensic Advisory Services. “Her rich background will help Bounce maximize its financial capacity to serve more children and their families.”
In addition, Ms. Hlavacek has ample volunteer experience having served on the Board of Directors for both Willow House and Starlight Children’s Foundation Midwest. Currently, she also serves on the Board of Directors for the Chicago Scholars Foundation.

Ms. Hlavacek has a M.B.A. focused in Finance, Marketing from Northwestern University – Kellogg School of Management and a B.S. in Accounting from Purdue University. Ms. Hlavacek is also a certified public accountant.
