Bounce Children’s Foundation transforms the lives of chronically ill children, and their families, shifting all from surviving to thriving.
Focused on filling the gap in the continuum of care for the nearly 1 in 5 U.S. children who battle disease/disability, Bounce’s unique portfolio of highly effective, free programs, builds the resilience needed to cope with the ongoing, unexpected, setbacks that define chronic illness. Integrating an innovative combination of family adventures, education to strengthen vital coping skills, themed care packages for household families, access to resources, and continual peer support, Bounce creates a warm and welcoming community. Currently, Bounce serves over 400 chronically ill children and their families in the Chicagoland area.
Internship Overview:
Bounce is looking for a kid/family friendly, thoughtful, photography major, who shares our passion for transforming lives, to help document Bounce’s impact. Understanding the basic principles of photography and visual design, you will produce attractive and compelling photos at program and fundraising events hosted across the Chicagoland area 2-3 times a month. Your photos will feed content to our website, social media outlets and email-based communications.
Candidates should be focused on capturing the joy our programs bring to the families we serve. Prior experience in photography for business/special events/online marketing/other professional uses, from basic to advanced, is preferred. The ideal intern is one who focuses on the business need and impact of their photography, meets deadlines, accurately estimates, and prioritize projects. As a Bounce intern, you will practice and refine your craft, while also learning the inner workings of not-for-profit management.
Undergraduate and graduate students are invited to apply. Interns can work toward course credit, if discussed/approved in advance. It is anticipated that this internship will require approximately 10 hours per month. A 6–12-month commitment is required and specific start/end dates are negotiable.
