NEWS RELEASE – Alan Farkas

Bounce Children’s Foundation Welcomes Alan Farkas to Board of Directors

Deerfield, IL (Oct. 05, 2022)– Bounce Children’s Foundation®, a not-for-profit organization that transforms the lives of chronically ill children, and their families, shifting all from surviving to thriving, has elected Alan Farkas, JD to its Board of Directors for a three-year term. Farkas has been successfully litigating complex, high-profile aviation and commercial matters for more than 30 years and is currently a partner at SmithAmundsun, where he co-chairs the company’s aviation practice.

Prior to joining SmithAmundsen, Alan was a founding member of the Chicago-based law firm, Madsen, Farkas & Powen, LLC where he concentrated on Aviation and Commercial litigation, with an unblemished record of success at trial. Alan lectures frequently to industry groups and has been recognized by several organizations as an outstanding lawyer with a professional approach.

“I am truly honored to join the board of this amazing organization,” said Alan Farkas. “I recently attended a Bounce Bash® family adventure and was very impressed with what Bounce Families shared about how the organization has helped them. I’m equally impressed with its goals and strategies, and can’t wait to help make them a reality.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Alan to our board as he shares our vision of expanding the organization to help more families raising children forced to battle chronic illness,” said Bobby Lucas, Office Managing Partner, Dinsmore & Shohl and Bounce Board Chair.

Outside of the office, Farkas is always looking for a way to give back to his community. In the past, he has served as a Deerfield Village Trustee and in board roles for a number of industry organizations and professional associations. “Alan has a long history of giving back and helping others. His commitment to service parallels that of our amazing volunteers and I look forward to partnering with him,” noted Bounce Founder & CEO, Joan Steltmann.

Farkas graduated from the University of Denver with a BA in Political Science and Economics and received his JD from Washington University in St. Louis. He lives in Deerfield with his family.
